Here are some books Your Score Booster recommends.
In September 2015, the ACT’s essay section changed dramatically, and a dual passage was added to the reading section.
As its name suggests, this is the official ACT study guide. It has the new format of the test, which changed in September 2015. However, this book has only 3 exams. If you need more exams, get the Real ACT Prep Guide. It was first published in May 2016.
This book was the previous official guide and has five exams with explanations, allowing for self-study. The essay change is dramatic. But the multiple-choice sections (the bulk of the exam) from this book are quite useful. The book does not have dual reading passages.
If you complete all the exams from the Official ACT Prep Guide and the Real ACT Prep Guide, move onto this book, which has exams from the previous format. This book has the old essay format. But the multiple-choice sections from this book are quite useful, even though it does not have dual reading passages.
Never depend on College Board for advice on test-taking. The test-maker wants to pretend there are no tips or tricks for the test. This book has explanations to the exams, but not tricks and strategies. If you just want the tests, without solutions, visit our page on the new SAT.
